NHLRC
Founded in 2000 and one of 15 language centers funded by the U.S. Department of Education, the National Heritage Language Resource Center (NHLRC) is the only nationwide organization devoted to teaching heritage language learners. The NHLRC is creating a research base and then pursuing curriculum design, materials development, and teacher education.
The Heritage Language Cooperative collaborates with the NHLRC on several endeavors. For example, we encourage our affiliates to complete the NHLRC Heritage Program Survey. We also seek to attend their Summer 2009 event in Urbana-Champaign.
